Sometimes a beer surpasses everything that you hope it could be. Masala from Sweden’s Duckpond Brewery is a Chai Spiced Imperial Stout and it just keeps on delivering. It’s got an incredibly dense aroma of rich, layered Indian spice, burnt caramel and dark chocolate which follows through to the palate. The mouthfeel is so chewy it’s out of this world and has a lot of heavy lifting to do in support of the massive sweetness and huge, heartwarming alcohol note. Once the flavours fade you’re left with a lingering chilli heat that is nothing short of perfect. Love it.
