To celebrate their 10th birthday, Christchurch-based Eagle Brewing have gone with a 10 per cent Belgian-style beer that has inspired them over the years. It has a big, malty and complex nose, with dried apricot, fig and toasted hazelnut. Ripe fruity esters abound on the palate, alongside fresh baked wholemeal bread and rum soaked raisins. Dynamic and vivacious now in its youth, it will develop more complex and subtle flavours with a few years of age. A serious contender for the most authentic quad brewed in New Zealand.
