Heart of Darkness is a Vietnam based brewery with a distinctly American motif. After a successful 2019 collab with Behemoth they’ve brought this IPA to New Zealand and it’s now being brewed here at Behemoth full-time. The big American-hopped nose is full of pine resin and grapefruit, with a distinct malt sweetness showing through. The palate is full and juicy, with pine and citrus lift carrying the sweet malt backbone along at a brisk pace. The bitterness is spot-on, cleaning up the fruity finish and leaving nothing but the desire for another sip. A great international IPA, without the carbon miles.Â
