The 15th release of Sawmill’s Aotearoa series, which are brewed with all-local malt and hops. This one features Nelson Sauvin and Motueka. The Sauvin jumps out in front on the nose (no surprise there) with pungent gooseberry and passionfruit, while the Motueka adds some tang and lift with prickly lemon and lime citrus. On the palate it’s the Motueka firmly in control, with sharp citrus and fresh florals in front of the softer tropical flavours. The bitterness is light, but it’s just enough to keep things in check until the tight snappy finish.
