I reckon Luke Nicholas and the Epic team have found the perfect combination of American hops (Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic) in this beer…WOW! Rip open the can and the room is littered with passionfruit, mango and tangerine aromas that even a lager-lover would embrace! Complexity is kept in check with this beer as it is only a pale ale, but those aromas grab a hold of you and you are fooled into thinking you’re about hit a big, juicy double IPA! The beer coats your tongue with a nice dry powdery feel that I wasn’t initially sure about, but have come to love. I’m constantly on the hunt for good value fridge fillers and this beer ticks all the boxes. It comes in a six-pack for about $24 or a case of 24 direct from the brewery is a steal at $90. Epic are indeed one of New Zealand’s best executers of “The Haze Revolution”.
