This is the first time I’ve seen a beer from The Theoretical Brewer (New Plymouth) in the South Island, and appearing by way of the New World Top-30 is a good way for it to make an entrance. It might only be 5% ABV, but the aroma is huge. Pungent gooseberry and white grape up front with some fresh cut grass and citrus blossom further in. On the tongue it’s light bodied and rapid, with a zippy acidity that holds up into the long fruity finish. A great hazy that expertly leverages all the strengths of the style to cram maximum flavour into its modest alcohol weight.
