Idaho is America’s 14th largest state and more famous for its potato crop than its hops harvest…well, that’s until now! Idaho 7TM is the first hop release from Jackson Farms located just outside the Boise, Idaho’s capital. The team at Baylands Brewing in Wellington have smashed together a beautiful mix of Idaho 7TM, Citra and Centennial hops to create this light, easy drinking hazy pale ale. Orange, tangerine and mandarin flavours dance neatly across the palate backed up by a strong pine resin finish which really appealed. At 5.8% ABV this beer still packs a decent punch so I suggest drinking the beer slowly taking time to savour those big, tropical flavours of the US.
